On June 18th, 2025, Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. presented the Former Chief Justice Stephen A. Zappala Public Service Excellence Award to Dick Skrinjar at the Senior Justice & Wellness Expo held at Acrisure Stadium. For the past 10 years, Dick has served the DA’s Office as a Senior Justice Advocate, sharing meaningful messages and resources aimed at protecting older Allegheny County residents from fraud, scams and abuse.
Dick’s lifelong career, dedicated to serving his community better, especially older residents, has paved the way for many improvements and accessibility through the courts.
“All of his [Dick’s] past experiences made him the man for the job,” said DA Zappala. “He holds a world’s worth of knowledge when it comes to connecting people to resources.”
Elliott Skrinjar, Dick’s son, accepted the award on behalf of his family, who was also in attendance.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office is proud of Dick’s great accomplishments and looks forward to continuing his legacy of protecting seniors from fraud & abuse.
