The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office in partnership with Center for Victims held a Victim Rights Forum on April 28, in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The panel discussion included topics such as amendments to the Victims Rights Act, Act 71 & Act 77. These amendments refer to bail hearing modifications, protection of victims’ rights in hearings, and victim compensation. District Attorney, Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. along with representatives from local victims’ agencies, Center for Victims, Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, Office of Victim Advocate, Crisis Center North and Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center participated in the panel.
