PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office is requesting the records related to the public safety contract established between the City of Pittsburgh and the Matrix Consulting Group.

On Aug. 4, 2023, the District Attorney’s Office submitted a Right-To-Know Law request for the City of Pittsburgh’s dealings with the Matrix Consulting Group. The request is regarding but not limited to Matrix’s July 2023 report prepared for the City of Pittsburgh, “Final Report on the Staffing and Utilization Study, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.”

The District Attorney’s Office has directed the City of Pittsburgh to preserve all records referenced in the request, as well as all other additional records that are in the possession, custody or control of the City of Pittsburgh. This includes any of its offices, departments, bureaus and/or commissions that in any way relate to or concern the Matrix Consulting Group.

“A number of concerns have been brought to my attention from public and private officials pertaining to the city’s public safety,” said District Attorney Zappala. “Our office intends to thoroughly look into this to the best of our abilities.”
