PITTSBURGH — Ronald Steave, 32, of Pittsburgh, was found guilty and convicted of three counts of first-degree murder for the 2021 deaths of Nandi Fitzgerald, her 12-year-old son Denzel Nowlin and sister Tatianna Hill, Tuesday morning in Judge Borkowski’s courtroom. Steave was also convicted of one count of not to possess a firearm.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a call of shots fired out of a Homewood residence on Dec. 31, 2021. Police discovered the bodies of the three victims inside the home, each with apparent gunshot wounds. City of Pittsburgh camera footage of the surrounding area and gunshot residue and blood on the front of Steave’s car connected him to the crime scene.
“It’s a tragic circumstance when one person loses their life let alone three,” said DA Zappala. “We hope that the victims’ families can use this verdict as a start to healing.”
Deputy District Attorney Alison Bragle handled this case.
Steave’s sentencing is scheduled for February 2025.
